Tulsa’s Marcus Lewis posted his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and a season-high 18 rebounds. Ryan Reid added 12 points and 12 rebounds, including 10 offensive, and Curtis Sumpter pitched in 11 points and 10 boards.
It marked Reid and Sumpter’s third and second double-doubles of the season, respectively.
In Dale Osbourne’s first game as head coach for the 66ers, Tulsa forced 17 Austin turnovers and notched eight steals, including a game-high four thefts by Lewis.
The third consecutive contest between the two Western Conference foes featured eight ties and 11 lead changes.
The 66ers carried a 45-44 lead into halftime, but saw the Toros sprint out of the locker room to outscore the 66ers by a 23-12 margin in the third quarter to take control.
Justin Dentmon paced the Toros with a game-high 27 points. Lance Thomas also led the home team with 11 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
The 66ers continue on the road with two weekend contests against the Dakota Wizards this Friday and Sunday. Friday’s tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST inside the Bismarck Civic Center.
